Custard the drummer

Paul's musical career started in 1988 when he started playing the drums in 'The Custard' the band where he gained his alias. The band members changed so many times Paul was the only constant... the name stuck!

It wasn't long before he became a semi-professional drummer on the London Camden scene playing for the legendary three piece 'Lemonade Hand Grenade' and later known as 'Glycerine' when Fordy joined expanding the guitar section. This band became a regular feature in Camden in the mid 90's and were seen supporting Feeder and The Stereophonics in their early careers.

He then signed to Nude records with lo-fi indie band Lowgold in 1998. After leaving Lowgold at the end of 1999 he decided to spread his talents to dance music production and DJing. Since then Paul's kept his hand in on the drums and probably one of his most ambitious projects was with Crossfader between 2006 and 2009. This was a six piece multi genre band boasting a cellist and sax player as well as 'phat' synths and funky rock guitars.

Although not permanently in a band at the moment Paul still occasionally plays the drums for Lemonade Handgrenade, for Fordy and Something Strange when they fancy playing the odd gig.

www.myspace.com/lowgold This lot have battled on in the face of adversity with Nude records going bust in 2001 and a distinct lack of support from their second signing, others would have given up years ago and have now continued with their own label Dedtedrecords.
